YUCHEN LIU

Hi, everyone! My name is Yuchen Liu and I’m from China. I’ve been in Australia for two and a half years, this is my last semester of my Masters of Media course. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree of media three years ago in Shanghai, at the final semester of my bachelor I got an intern job at a film post industry company as a film editor. I also had one semester study experience at Monash University of Masters of Design and then transfer to RMIT and I had one semester of study in Taipei at Shinhsin University of Film and Television.

My learning and living experience in Shanghai and Taipei got me in touch with vintage clothes culture, vintage clothes always have a unique style and fabric, it fascinates me. My aesthetic methods also changed a lot during my uni time. I watched lots of movies from different time periods, every time period has its own fashion style and I tried to make some different time period short movies myself, these got me interested in fashion and want to learn more about fashion and fashion history. Last semester, I had a course talking about fashion films, I enjoyed it and it made me want to know more about fashion.

I’m hoping I can learn more about technology in fashion through this class, I’m looking forward to enjoying this class and making more friends!
